EMAG Koepfer has introduced the HLC 150 H gear hobbing machine for components with a maximum length of 500 mm and weight of 10 kgs.
Machining the teeth of a rotor shaft for electric cars has demanding machining requirements. The motors of these cars require parts with high surface finishes so that loud running noises do not occur. In addition, the number of units in e-mobility is greatly increasing, which is an additional challenge for the mechanical engineering involved.
This milling head of this gear hobbing machine is rigidly suspended and moves during machining. The shift axis is made up of the interpolation of two axes. In this way, a large milling head swivelling angle is created with a large shift path at the same time. According to the manufacturer, the result is smooth gear hobbing and high gear quality.
The horizontal arrangement of the workpiece also prevents chip clusters from forming.
