Creaform’s MetraSCAN BLACK optical CMM scanner needs no warm-up time

Creaform has released the MetraSCAN BLACK CMM scanner for performing metrology-grade 3D measurements and inspections on the production floor. The portable optical CMM scanner can be integrated in any quality control, quality assurance, inspection, MRO, or reverse engineering work flow and operated by users of any skill level in any type of environment, the company states.
The system, which requires no warm-up time, measures complex parts and assemblies from an array of industries and manufacturing processes, such as automobile, aeronautics, power generation, heavy industry, and sheet metal. It features 15 blue laser crosses for a large scanning area that takes up to 1.8 million measurements per second. Measurement resolution is 0.0009 in.
