Salvagnini now offers its L5 laser with an 8-kW high-power-density source, which improves cutting acceleration for better performance on medium-thin material thicknesses. According to the manufacturer, the 8-kW source achieves greater cutting speeds than a 10-kW source on thicknesses up to 6 mm.
Reducing the power of the source while keeping cutting speeds high reduces energy and gas consumption for the same performance, the company reports.
For small batch sizes that need rapid automation or masked-time production changes, the machine can be fed from an LTWS store tower equipped with automated loading/unloading. The tower makes different materials and thicknesses available for JIT production, reducing waiting times for sheet metal feeding and operator dependency.
